Eduardo Betancourt and the Venezuelan Project

Eduardo Betancourt and the Venezuelan Project have been performing at Berklee College of Music’s Summer in the City series. We are loving this video, ‘Roots Medley’ – a medley of   “Merenguisimo,” “Blue Ensemble” (these two by Venezuelan Project members Josu Ortiz and Carlos Capacho), and the traditional “Pajarillo.” It is typical of how the Venezuelan Project combines traditional folkloric Venezuelan styles, with a wide range of contemporary styles.

Since its creation, the Venezuelan Project has performed in venues like the Berklee Performance Center, House of Blues, NPR Radio Station, Dreamfarm radio, as well as numerous festivals and events like the 2016 Beantown Jazz Festival, Berklee International Folk Festival, Berklee Encore Gala 2015 and 2016, Berklee Summer in the City 2017, among others.

North American harpists – be aware that Eduardo is currently living in Boston, so if you would like to get in touch with him to explore the Camac llanera, now is your moment! He’s on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter as @Bordoneando…and don’t forget his new CD Ad Libitum.  This is available, like all hot harp stuff, from our e-store
