Rave Harps International Prestige Award 2022

Together with our friends at The Harp Association Singapore, we are proud co-sponsors of the Rave Harps International Prestige Award 2022

In the space of just over ten years, Katryna Tan’s Rave Harps teaching studios have transformed the harp worlds of Singapore and Malaysia. Their wealth of pedagogic and performance opportunities never stops evolving, ever-creative and aligned with the times. If you are in Singapore or attended the last World Harp Congress in Hong Kong, perhaps you have already experienced their truly exceptional harp musicals. Everybody who has had the good fortune to see these will testify that it is a wonderful and unforgettable experience.

Last year, Rave Harps launched a hybrid International Prestige Award for the first time. Candidates in Singapore will perform live; candidates abroad can submit a video link. This makes the event widely accessible to all, without losing the buzz of a live event!

François Pernel : excerpt from Six Nuits pour Harpe In the Young Professional category, the set work is one commissioned by Camac from François Pernel: 6 Nuits pour Harpe. The work is a homage to the late Pierick Houdy, with a citation from his beautiful sonata of 1983 in the sixth movement.

2022’s competition also has a concerto category for the first time (Boieldieu for seniors; Handel or Wagenseil for juniors).

The closing date for entries is February 28th, with an early bird discount for all received before January 31st. Comprehensive information about rules, categories, repertoire and how to enter is available here on Rave Harps’ website.

François Pernel’s “Six Nuits pour Harpe” will be sent in PDF format to the candidates by the competition organisation, upon receipt of registration.
