Phalaena: harp, violin – and accordion!

PhalaenaPhalaena is a new ensemble from Sophie Hallynck (harp), Isabelle Chardon (violin) and Christophe Delporte (accordion). They’re an unusual and beautiful combination of instruments, and their name means “butterfly”, inspired by legerity, grace and elegance. Their eponymous, debut CD sheds new light on well-known classical music, chosen by Sophie and her colleagues because they love it: Saint-Saëns’s Danse Macabre, Ravel’s Kaddisch, De Falla’s Chansons Populaires Espagnoles, Scarlatti’s Four Seasons…

All their arrangements bring new light to the music through the original colours and delicate balance of the ensemble. It’s now available from your harp one-stop-shop, the Camac online store
