Fifth International Harp Competition, Szeged, Hungary

Fifth International Competition, Hungary 2019

We have long been principal sponsors of the International Harp Competition in Szeged, Hungary. Founded by Natalia Gorbunova in 2007, applications to the fifth edition are now open! The competition will take place  between November 27 – December 1, 2019, at the Reök Palace in Szeged, and has three categories: U14, U19 and U25. It also has a new Artistic Director, with Anastasia Razvalyaeva taking over the reins.

Anastasia and her team are well-known for their particularly sincere and supportive organisation, which always makes competing easier and more constructive. It is an ideal way to gain experience on an international level, before heading for the biggest contests with older age limits. Of course, the Camac team will also be there, and we are all looking forward very much to a week full of artistic inspiration, making new friends, and meeting old ones. These are also all reasons to do a competition, and Szeged is a perfect place for them.

All information, repertoire, rules, jury lists, downloadable flyer and the application form can be found on the competition’s webpage. There is also a nice TV feature from 2013 here on YouTube, which gives you a sense of what life is like at the event.
